Adult Neuropsychology

The Advanced Neuroscience Network has experts in Neuropsychology who specialize in the relationship between the brain, behavior and psychological processes.  Our Neuropsychologists have a strong background and training in neurocognitive assessment and treatment in both acute and outpatient settings for adults and children across the treatment continuum.  A Neuropsychologist is a psychologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of cognitive and psychological disorders within the context of neurological conditions.

They conduct a neuropsychological evaluation, which is a series of tests and an interview that assess multiple neurocognitive domains including attention, concentration, memory, intelligence, visuospatial/visuoconstruction skills, executive functions, language, mood and personality. The results are often used in conjunction with medical imaging procedures such as MRI or CT scans of the brain to help provide insight into the etiology of your neurological concerns and develop specific treatment recommendations.  A Neuropsychological evaluation also may facilitate measuring change over time and response to treatment.

Some of the conditions our Neuropsychologists treat include:

  • Memory loss or concentration problems
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Dementia
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Stroke
  • Brain tumors
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • An illness or medical condition that affects brain function
